Project Manager – Renewable Energy & Sustainable Infrastructure

About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Project Manager to lead major renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure projects from concept through to delivery.

Based in Edinburgh, you will take ownership of high-profile initiatives within the clean energy sector — including solar, wind, and low-carbon infrastructure developments. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, commercial insight, and a passion for driving the UK’s energy transition toward a greener future.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Execution

  • Manage the full lifecycle of renewable energy and infrastructure projects, from feasibility through to completion and handover.

  • Develop project execution plans, schedules, and risk management frameworks.

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including design, engineering, construction, and commissioning functions.

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

  • Oversee procurement, contract administration, and supplier performance management.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead internal project teams, consultants, and subcontractors, fostering collaboration and accountability.

  • Act as primary point of contact for clients, investors, and external partners.

  • Manage stakeholder communications, reporting, and project governance at board level.

  • Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and community stakeholders.

Commercial & Financial Oversight

  • Control project budgets, forecasts, and cost performance metrics.

  • Identify commercial risks, contractual issues, and potential opportunities for value engineering.

  • Ensure adherence to corporate governance, compliance, and sustainability standards.

Strategic Contribution

  • Contribute to the development of the company’s renewable project pipeline and strategic growth plans.

  • Support business development and tendering activities with technical and delivery insights.

  • Champion innovation, digital tools, and sustainable construction practices across all projects.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 8–10 years’ project management experience within renewable energy, utilities, infrastructure, or engineering sectors.

  • Proven success in managing multi-million-pound projects from inception to completion.

  • Strong understanding of contract management (NEC / FIDIC) and project governance frameworks.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Degree-qualified in Project Management, Engineering, Construction, or related discipline.

  • Professional accreditation (APM, PRINCE2, PMP, or Chartered Engineer) preferred.

  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability, safety, and innovation.
